NoGeeksPlease.co.uk aim is to
encourage freedom of speech and the interchange of ideas from all different
cultures and traditions; we believe that exposure to different traditions
and cultures through the Internet can be a transforming experience
leading to greater understanding and tolerance of others. However,
with freedom of expression comes the inevitable risk that NoGeeksPlease.co.uk
members will post illegal and obscene material. The following terms
and conditions are designed to provide members with
the minimum of governance while protecting them from any illegal activities.
This Agreement sets forth the detailed terms and conditions governing the
use of Membership services on NoGeeksPlease.co.uk - hereinafter
referred to as "The Site", so that
you clearly understand your rights as a member and understand our guidelines
for usage.
Membership on the Site provides registered Members (each a "Member")
with a package of content and services. NoGeeksPlease.co.uk may, at its discretion,
add or delete features. By registering as a Member, you agree to use the
Site in a manner consistent with all applicable laws and regulations and
in accordance with the terms and conditions specifically discussed below.
Price and Payment
NoGeeksPlease.co.uk membership content and services are available free of
charge, exclusive of other Internet or telecommunications fees.
All Premium Subscription Services, are non transferable
and apply to 1 member profile only. This is the profile from which
the product or subscription was purchased. All Premium Subscription
Services are non refundable.
NoGeeksPlease.co.uk reserve the right to add, remove or amend any feature or Service at
any time without notice, explanation or liability without limitation. NoGeeksPlease.co.uk
reserves the right to increase or reduce the price or alter the content or features
of any Premium Subscription Service or Product without prior notice, explanation
or liability.
Terms of Membership
Membership is available to anyone who registers all required information,
provides an accurate, legitimate electronic mail address, and obtains a
unique NoGeeksPlease.co.uk Member Name and password. NoGeeksPlease.co.uk does
not discriminate on the basis of age (except where appropriate laws require),
gender, or ethnic origin. Each Member is allowed to have only one Membership.
NoGeeksPlease.co.uk allows one registered Membership per legitimate electronic
mail address (two if the address is shared by two different, legitimate
users who share a computer and Email address). Any exceptions, including
the use of one electronic mail address by multiple users, must be approved
by NoGeeksPlease.co.uk. Membership is intended for personal use only and is
non-transferable. Members found to be abusing the membership or voting system by using 'fake' profiles will be deemed to be in breach of our terms and conditions. NoGeeksPlease.co.uk resrves the rights to terminate membership for any user found to be in breach of these terms and conditions.
Member Web Page Guidelines
NoGeeksPlease.co.uk intends to provide Member Web pages and the associated
storage space in dedicated Membership areas as a service to Members. All
information held on the Membership areas should be considered Web pages
and must adhere to all Member Web Page Guidelines. NoGeeksPlease.co.uk supports
and encourages freedom of speech and the exchange of ideas, but has established
the following parameters for the Member Web page building service and guidelines
for any content placed on those pages. These parameters have been designed
to allow our diverse and multi-cultured community to grow without undue
governance, but protects our members from exposure to grossly offensive
material.
NoGeeksPlease.co.uk is not responsible for the content of any personal homepage,
and the views expressed in the Membership area of NoGeeksPlease.co.uk are
the responsibility of the posting Member and not NoGeeksPlease.co.uk. NoGeeksPlease.co.uk does not review Web pages in any way before they appear on the Member area
of the Site. NoGeeksPlease.co.uk reserves the right to remove any page from
the Site. NoGeeksPlease.co.uk may place a legal disclaimer at the bottom of
any page(s) within the Membership area of NoGeeksPlease.co.uk. Removal of
any such disclaimer or any additional information placed along with the
disclaimer is grounds for removal of that page and termination of NoGeeksPlease.co.uk Membership.
NoGeeksPlease.co.uk provides space for Member Web pages but makes no implied
or express warranties about the reliability of these pages. NoGeeksPlease.co.uk is not responsible for any damage caused by loss of access to, or deletion
or alteration of Member pages; individual Members are responsible for monitoring
and creating backups of their pages.
The following is a non-exclusive list of actions and content that are not
permitted on the Site:
Any use of copyrighted material without the express permission of the author
or owner. With specific regard to issues of software piracy, please see
our Addendum to the Terms of Service, below.
Pages that exploit the images of children under 18 years of age.
Material that is grossly offensive to the NoGeeksPlease.co.uk Community, including
clear expressions of bigotry, racism, or hatred.
Pages that promote illegal activity.
Material that defames, abuses or threatens others.
Pages that contains material inconsistent with the values of the spirit
of the NoGeeksPlease.co.uk Community.
Use of a Member Web page as storage or data-warehousing.
Advertising or any form of commercial solicitation.
Member Profiles
NoGeeksPlease.co.uk Member Profiles are intended to be brief descriptions
of Members and the content contained on Member Profiles should conform
to the same content standards applied to Member Web pages.
Rules for Online Conduct: NoGeeksPlease.co.uk Surveys, Chatrooms, and Message
Boards (Forums).
By participating in any of the above services, the Member agrees not
to include any electronic mail or postings ("Postings") that contain
any of the following material in NoGeeksPlease.co.uk Surveys, Chatrooms, or Message
Boards:
Material that defames, abuses or threatens others.
Statements that are bigoted, hateful or racially offensive.
Material that advocates illegal activity.
Material that contains obscene content.
Advertising or any form of commercial solicitation.
Survey responses are reviewed before appearing on the Site. Chat and Message
Board Postings are not reviewed prior to appearing on the Site. NoGeeksPlease.co.uk reserves the right to edit, delete, or move any Postings.
Privacy
All information provided by a Member is strictly confidential. NoGeeksPlease.co.uk reserves the right to distribute aggregated demographic information provided
by Members, but will never release the name or other personal information
about a Member without the permission of that Member. Please see our privacy
policy for more details.
The exchange between NoGeeksPlease.co.uk and the Member of information such
as passwords or electronic mail may not be secure given the current state
of the Internet.
Postings and other communications with NoGeeksPlease.co.uk are not private
and may be published and edited at the discretion of NoGeeksPlease.co.uk unless
specifically instructed otherwise.
Export of data
NoGeeksPlease.co.uk is building a global service for 16 to 24 year olds. Information
collected from members may be exported by NoGeeksPlease.co.uk to countries
or territories other than the country of residence of the visitors. This
will include countries that do not necessary afford by law the same amount
of protection to personal information as the country of residence. We will
export your data to another NoGeeksPlease.co.uk service only in special circumstances,
(for example, if you are German and register in the USA, and NoGeeksPlease.co.uk subsequently launches a German language site, then your information may
be shared between the sites) and your membership in the original country
will still be valid. Members consent to such export.
Copyrighted Material
All material on the Site including, without limitation, text, software,
photographs, video, graphics, music and sound, are protected by English
and international copyright laws, both as individual works and as a collection.
